BENICIA, CA — The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has announced a settlement with Valero Refining Co., which has agreed to pay $191,500 for violations of air quality regulations at its Benicia refinery in 2017.

The violations included excessive visible emissions, a tank leak, and a failure to do daily inspections, according to the air district, which announced the settlement Wednesday.

All violations addressed in the agreement have been corrected, and the settlement money will be used to fund other air district enforcement activities.
