Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Bay Area Was Shoved Onto Roadway: Police

The crash happened during the early hours of Sept. 15, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

VALLEJO, CA — A woman who was purposefully shoved onto the path of an oncoming car in Vallejo earlier this month has died, police said.

The woman was in the 100 block of Lincoln Road West around 3:19 a.m. on Sept. 15 when she was struck by a car, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

She was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The department said they were notified Sunday that she had died from her injuries. Her identity was not immediately revealed.

During an investigation into the crash, detectives learned that someone had shoved the woman into the roadway shortly before she was struck, police said.

Police did not say who shoved the woman or what happened in the moments leading up to her being pushed onto the roadway. The case, however, is now being investigated as a homicide, police said.
