Woman Struck, Killed By Car In Vallejo
Police said the victim, likely a transient or homeless woman, was found in front of a furniture store.

VALLEJO, CA — Vallejo police said a 23-year-old woman from Kern County was killed Tuesday night when she was struck by a vehicle. Police have identified her but the Solano County coroner's office said it couldn't release her name yet.
Vallejo police responded around 7 p.m. to a pedestrian-vehicle collision on Lewis Brown Drive east of Sonoma Boulevard. The Kern County woman was found lying on the south side of Lewis Brown Drive in front of a furniture store.
A man whose eastbound Kia Soul struck the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police Lt. Michael Nichelini said.

The woman was not in a crosswalk when she was hit between Sonoma Boulevard and Broadway Street, Nichelini said. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
The woman appeared to be homeless or a transient and her last known address was in Bakersfield, Nichelini said.
