BERKELEY, CA — Two Berkeley journalists have received prestigious awards.
Berkeleyside’s Supriya Yelimeli and Doug Ng were recognized for excellence in 2021 by the Society of Professional Journalists.
Yelimeli, who covers homelessness and housing, was named Outstanding Emerging Journalist, and Ng, the outlet’s news platforms director, was honored in the design category.

Ng was honored for design for creating data visualization that figured prominently in the publication’s “Scarred but resilient: Telegraph Avenue emerges from the pandemic.”
