Berkeley Developer Fee: Public Hearing Planned
The Berkeley Unified School District wants to impose a new fee on developments, both housing and commercial, to pay for schools.
BERKELEY, CA — The Berkeley School District would like to levy a fee on new residential and commercial developments in the city.
The Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on the proposed adoption of a study for for fee.
"The adoption of the Study and the levying of the Level I Fee are necessary to fund the construction of needed school facilities to accommodate students due to development," the district said in a public notice.

Members of the public may comment in writing, on or before June 12, or appear in person at the hearing at 9 p.m. on June 12 at the following location:
