Berkeley Mom Wins SF Marathon Women's Division
A Berkeley woman, 28-year-old Anna Bretan, won the women's division of the San Francisco Marathon in record-breaking time Sunday.

Anna Bretan of Berkeley broke the course record and took first place in the women's division of the San Francisco Marathon Sunday.
Bretan, 28, a mother and also past winner of the Oakland Marathon, finished the 26.2-mile course in an unofficial record time of two hours, 42 minutes and 26 seconds, according to the race's results page.
First in the men's division was Francois Lhuissier, 35, a native of France who currently lives in New York City, with an unofficial winning time of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 15 seconds.
Her victory in the 2012 Oakland Marathon came six weeks after giving birth to her third child, according to an post last year on the 510Familes website. The post includes a photo of her after the race holding her then newborn daughter.
