Berkeley Schools Superintendent To Testify on Capitol Hill
Ford Morthel will tackle the issue of antisemitism in K-12 schools.
BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley Unified School District Superintendent Ford Morthel is scheduled to testify May 8 in Washington, D.C. before a House Committee on Education and the Workforce subcommittee.
Morthel will address the topic of antisemitism in K-12 schools.
"As our Superintendent has shared many times, Berkeley Unified celebrates our diversity and stands against all forms of hate and othering, including antisemitism and Islamophobia," the district said in a statement. "We strive every day to ensure that our classrooms are respectful, humanizing, and joyful places for all our students, where they are welcomed, seen, valued, and heard."
The testimony is scheduled for 7:15 a.m. Pacific time on May 8.
