Berkeley Serial Rapist Gets 24 Years: Report

Johnny Dunbar, who is now 30, was convicted and sentenced for raping three women in 2008, Berkeleyside reports.

BERKELEY, CA — A serial Berkeley rapist has been sentenced to 24 years in state prison, Berkeleyside reports.

Johnny Dunbar, 30, was convicted and sentenced April 18 for breaking into the homes of three women and sexually assaulting them with a gun or a knife in 2008, the report said.

Dunbar was 16 at the time, according to the report.

Berkeley police weren't able to solve the case until 2016, when they arrested Dunbar, who was 24 by then, for a traffic warrant.

The fingerprints they obtained from Dunbar during that jail booking process matched the fingerprints that police obtained at one of the crime scenes in 2008.
