Berkeley Survey Aims To Improve Accessibility

BERKELEY, CA — The city of Berkeley last week issued a survey that aims to improve services for people with disabilities.

The city’s Americans with Disabilities Act Public Input Survey is soliciting ideas from the public on how to make life easier for disabled people on the city’s sidewalks and city facilities and virtually on the city’s website.

The survey is part of a wider effort by the city’s Public Works Department to improve accessibility, city officials said.

The survey’s results will be used guide a Transition Plan required by ADA to transition local governments to ADA compliance.

“Give feedback if you have a disability, are a caregiver, or even if you don't currently have a disability,” the city said in a statement on its website.

“Your feedback will help guide our citywide plan to prioritize the accessibility of pedestrian safety, reduce liability, and provide information for our city improvements.”
