The Oakland Police Department said that the shots were fired just before noon.

The college was placed on a lockdown and reports were sent out that there was an active shooter on campus, but that has since been rescinded, police said. The campus will remained closed for the day, school officials said.

Police described the suspect as a man wearing dark clothing and a black hoodie.
