Berkeley police assisted the Butte County Sheriff's Office in serving the warrant in the1800 block of Fairview Street.
BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley officers Thursday morning assisted a Northern California agency in serving a “high-risk” search warrant in connection with a gun violence investigation, but the suspect sought wasn’t at the address according to police.
The Berkeley Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT) assisted the Butte County Sheriff’s Office in the warrant at a residence in the 1800 block of Fairview Street.
The SRT formed a perimeter around the suspect’s residence and trained negotiators spoke with the people inside the residence in an attempt to convince them to come out on their own, police said.
