“As American democracy confronts threats on multiple fronts, how are women leaders charting the path forward? Speaker Pelosi has been at the forefront of struggles on issues of voting rights, election reform, health care, climate and immigration, navigating landmark legislative proposals through the House of Representatives,” UC Berkeley officials said in a statement announcing the event.

“As the first woman Speaker of the House and House Democrats’ leader for two decades, Speaker Pelosi brings an unparalleled perspective to contemporary American politics and policy.”

The event is sponsored by UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies and the Bancroft Library and co-sponsored by the Robert T. Matsui Center for Politics and Public Service, the College of Letters & Sciences, Berkeley Law, Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science and the Department of Sociology.
