• Rare Auschwitz Artifact Acquired (bocaratonobserver.com) — A rare original whiteprint of the Auschwitz-Birkenau crematoria has been acquired with help from Rabbi David Baron of Beverly Hills’ Temple of the Arts, tying this global Holocaust education effort to the local community. The $1.5 million purchase will fund an early childhood curriculum promoting empathy and anti-extremism. The artifact will tour educational institutions before being permanently donated.
   

• LA County Sues Oil Companies Over Idle Inglewood Wells Allegedly Leaking Toxic Pollution (westsidetoday.com) — Los Angeles County is suing several oil companies over allegedly leaking idle wells at the Inglewood oil field, while noting that an active oil field still operates out of sight in Beverly Hills. Officials say poorly sealed wells may be releasing toxins that threaten more than a million nearby residents. The county seeks civil penalties and stricter decommissioning of aging wells.
