A fire that burned in heavy brush in Brentwood was knocked down this morning, and no one was hurt, authorities said.

The 2-acre blaze that burned in steep terrain on the edge of Rustic Canyon Park was fought by more than 100 firefighters and hand crews from the Los Angeles city and county fire departments. It was reported around 10:35 p.m. Thursday near Capri Drive and Casale Road, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze was mainly fought from the air, with five helicopters deployed, Scott said. A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter was also in use. Ground access to the fire was made difficult by narrow, winding roads in the area, Scott said.

The fire was declared knocked down early this morning, but some firefighters remained on scene after daybreak as a precaution, said Katherine Main of the LAFD.
