Police Blotter: Balloon Person and Fake Handcuffs

Wednesday, Oct. 19

12:38 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious person on the porch on the 600 block of Lexington Way. There turned out to be no person, but a mylar balloon floating on the porch.

4:55 a.m. A subject on the 1400 block of El Camino Real believed the phone was tapped and that a neighbor was selling drugs. The police found no merit to these reports.

12:35 p.m. Commercial burglary occurred between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. on the 500 block of Airport Boulevard. Laptop computers were taken.

7:49 p.m. There was a report of a subject boxing alone on the sidewalk near Broadway and El Camino Real. The subject was just exercising.

Thursday, Oct. 20

3:12 a.m. A caller reported an unknown person with a flashlight in her garage on the 700 block of Concord Way. The subject then ran from the scene.

2:44 p.m. Police received a report of a driver going very slowly with children in the car at El Camino Real and Oxford Drive. The caller was concerned the driver might be falling asleep.

3:04 p.m. A caller reported jaywalking on the 2300 block of Trousdale Drive.

5:35 p.m. A caller reported seeing a child in the back of a car with handcuffs on at El Camino Real and Howard Avenue. The driver said the cuffs were fake, but police were provided the license plate and intended to follow up.

Friday, Oct. 21

12:16 a.m. There was a report of a subject inside a car for more than an hour at Azalea Avenue and Larkspur Drive. The subject was taking a nap after leaving a friend's house.

3:19 a.m. An intoxicated hotel guest on the 1300 block of Bayshore Highway was climbing a concrete pole with three subjects encouraging him. They were there for a convention.

7:14 p.m. A citizen flagged down an officer on the 1100 block of Trousdale Drive. The citizen just wanted to leave a message for another officer.
