Police Blotter: Kids Throwing Rocks and Missing Car

Wednesday, Oct. 12

1:41 p.m. There was a report of a subject lying on the caller's lawn in the 1000 block of Toyon Drive. The person was gone when police arrived.

3:40 p.m. Juveniles were throwing rocks at cars and the nearby hospital in the 1700 block of El Camino Real. They boarded a bus before police arrived, so the police stopped the bus and the kids admitted to throwing the rocks.

9:19 p.m. There was a request for a welfare check in the 1700 block of Rollins Road concerning an elderly man who looked lost. He was fine, just looking for someone to help jump his dead battery.

10:22 a.m. A man reported he loaned his car to an employee and it should have been returned more than a week ago, but it never was. Police records indicated the subject had been arrested and the car towed.

2:52 p.m. The accidental activation of an OnStar emergency system reported a stolen vehicle at Bellevue Avenue and Douglas Avenue.

3:41 p.m. A dog got out of its owner's yard through a hole in the fence and was reportedly seen at Chapin Avenue and Occidental Avenue. The hole in the fence was repaired.

Friday, Oct. 14

9:58 a.m. A dog was reportedly on a leash in the back of a pickup truck and almost fell out when the truck stopped at El Camino Real and Trousdale Drive.

10:37 p.m. A child was locked inside of a car in the 1300 block of Burlingame Avenue. The owner had accidentally locked the car keys inside the car with the child.

10:42 p.m. There were reports of buses parked in the 0 block of Mangini Way with their engines running. The buses were checked and did not have their engines running.
