Week Ahead: Candidates' Forum, Play-A-Thon and More

Take a look ahead at what's going on in Burlingame this week.

What's on tap for this week? Keep an eye out for these events and stories this week. We'll be there to cover them.

  • The Planning Commission meets Monday at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
  • The Burlingame Elementary School District Board of Trustees meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the district administration building. Trustees will discuss the transitional kindergarten model.
  • The League of Women Voters hosts an election forum for the candidates in this year’s City Council election. The forum will be held Wednesday in Council Chambers at 7 p.m.
  • The Burlingame Garden Club meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Lane Community Room.
  • Russ Cohen of the Burlingame Historical Society will be presenting Burlingame Then and Now, a lecture and slideshow comparison at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Lane Community Room.
  • On Saturday at 2 p.m., Dr. Chris McKay of NASA will present a lecture and slideshow titled Exploring Antarctica in the Lane Community Room.
  • On Saturday, the invites community members to join in the day of , undertaking community volunteer projects.
  • A Diwali event for those on the Peninsula will take place Saturday at the Burlingame Women’s Club.
  • The Burlingame High School band and choir programs will hold their annual Play-A-Thon fundraiser outside the Burlingame Train Station Saturday. The band will play form 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with parades down Burlingame Avenue at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • A second City Council candidates' forum will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Burlingame Women’s Club.
