Low overnight temps are just one piece of intense weather that's been battering the Southland this week. Frigid conditions, combined with King Tides and hurricane-force winds prompted a series of weather warnings Wednesday and Thursday.

The maximum wind speeds hit 50 mph in the San Fernando Valley, 57 mph in the Santa Clarita Valley, 39 mph at Malibu's Leo Carillo State Beach, 46 mph at LAX and 47 mph in the Calabasas and Agoura Hills area, according to the NWS.
