Calabasas' $83.7M Budget Includes Mulholland Highway Improvements
The City Council approved the fiscal 2023-24 budget.

CALABASAS, CA — The city's budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year totals $83.7 million and includes plans for improvements to Mulholland Highway.
The City Council earlier this month approved the spending plan, which covers everything from personnel costs to capital improvements.
The city's two largest revenue sources are property tax ($4.6 million) and sales tax ($8.2 million).

Capital improvement costs total $20.2 million.
Among the projects funded for the next fiscal year are improvements to Mulholland Highway totaling $3.5 million. Planned is the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Old Topanga Road, shoulder widening and the installation of walkways, retaining walls and culverts.

Other top spending categories include personnel costs ($9.7 million) and the Sheriff's Department ($5.6 million).
The budget includes a $12.5 million deficit, which will be covered by reimbursements from reimbursements from Los Angeles County under measures M and R, state gas-tax funds and fee-increases from the Tennis & Swim Center, according to city officials.
