Calabasas Ranks Among Top City-Like Suburbs In U.S.: Report
Calabasas was ranked the fifth best city-like suburb in the U.S. based on factors like job opportunities and entertainment.

CALABASAS, CA — Calabasas ranks among the best city-like suburbs in the U.S., according to a report by StorageCafe.
Calabasas ranked fifth on the list, followed by neighboring suburb Agoura Hills ranked at the 13 slot. The only other California town to make the list was Laguna Beach at number 18.
The ranking, created by storage space marketplace StorageCafe, reflects how conducive a suburb is to a city-like lifestyle, meaning it is "amenity-rich" with housing, entertainment and job opportunities.

The company ranked suburbs with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 based on factors like median household income, housing affordability, employment opportunities, population density, the local public school system and more.
Calabasas ranked highly partially because it has a high ratio of businesses, restaurants and stores to residents: per 1,000 residents, the city has 65 businesses, 5.4 retail stores and 2.3 restaurants, according to StorageCafe.

The city has high household incomes, StorageCafe reported, with more than half of Calabasas households making over $125,814 a year.
The company also noted the high quality of the Las Virgenes Unified School District and the city's low crime rate.
