2 South Bay Homicide Suspects Arrested In Connection With 2018 Case

Juvenal Arellano, 38 of Milpitas, and Robert James Ascensio, 46 of Modesto, were arrested Thursday, police said.

SAN JOSE, CA — Two men were arrested last week in connection with a 2018 South Bay homicide, San Jose police said.

Juvenal Arellano, 38 of Milpitas, and Robert James Ascensio, 46 of Modesto, were arrested Thursday, police said.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has charged both men with murder, police said.

The two suspects are accused of fatally shooting Khanh Kieu, 54 of San José on June 21, 2018, according to police.

Officers responding to a 1:30 p.m. report of a shooting in 3600 block of Misty Glen Court found the Kieu suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said. Kieu was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting occurred during an attempted home burglary, The Mercury News reports.
