Accused Child Molesting Nanny Faces Up to 195 Years in Prison

The 41-year-old Campbell nanny goes before the court to enter a plea on April 10.

Accused child molester John "Mr. Johnny" Walker is next scheduled to appear in court on April 10 at 9:30 a.m. in Santa Clara County Superior Court.

The 41-year-old nanny from Campbell was arrested March 8 and . He also appeared in court Tuesday but did not enter a plea.

Walker will be represented by a public defender, but does not have one assigned to him yet, said Santa Clara Deputy District Attorney Clarissa Hamilton.

Hamilton said the April 10 hearing will probably be continued, similar to this week's hearing, because the newly assigned public defender will need a chance to get familiar with the case.

The case came together when Campbell police received a tip from an alleged victim's parent earlier this month. Together with the San Jose Police Department Child Exploits Team, Campell police investigated and arrested Walker.

"It's every parents' worse nightmare," Hamilton said.

She confirmed there are eight alleged female victims, but a .

"It's still an ongoing investigation, " she said.

To date, there are 14 formal charges against Walker, including:

  • Eight counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 14;
  • Two counts of oral copulation of a child under the age of 10;
  • One count of possession of child pornography.

"He's looking at 195 years to life for these charges," Hamilton said.
