Four Displaced By Fire In Campbell Apartments

Santa Clara County fire crews extinguished the blaze consuming two units in 20 minutes. Two others received smoke damage in the four-plex.

CAMPBELL, CA — Firefighters quickly knocked down a two-alarm blaze at a two-story apartment building in Campbell that consumed two units, damaged two others with smoke and displaced four people.

No one was hurt in the fire that broke out at about 3:25 p.m. in the 800 block of Sharmon Palms Lane, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

The four people are reported to be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

Fire crews will remain on the scene as a precaution.

The four-plex is nestled between Virginia Avenue and Sobrato Drive west of Winchester Boulevard. At one point, there was a concern an adjacent building might have been affected, but fire crews got a jump on the blaze and doused it in 20 minutes.

The cause is under investigation.
