This week's questions from Campbell Patch readers were answered by Campbell Police Captain Dave Carmichael.

Q: I have installed surveillance cameras around my property and now my neighbors would like to do the same thing. Are there any laws or restrictions we need to go by?

You may legally install and utilize surveillance cameras on your property.  It is not adviseable to have the cameras focused and/or zoomed in on the windows of your neighbors since this might constitute peeping.
