Bicyclist Found Dead On South Bay Freeway Embankment Identified
CHP is investigating the fatality on Interstate Highway 280 as a possible hit-and-run.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — A bicyclist killed in a possible hit-and-run Saturday on Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 32-year-old Victor Godinez Moreno. The California Highway Patrol received a report of a body on the embankment of Highway 280 north of McLaughlin Avenue, according to CHP Officer Ross Lee.
Responding parties found Moreno and his bicycle on the right shoulder of the highway at 5:15 p.m. CHP officers believe that Moreno was riding his bicycle on the shoulder when an unidentified vehicle veered and struck him from behind, Lee said.
Moreno then potentially flew from his bicycle and landed in the embankment.
