More than 600 students participated in Campbell Union School District's 34th annual Richard Ullman Writing Faire, on display through May 25 at the Campbell Library.
The always has something going on, but for the next few days there is a collection of books that aren't available for check out.
Campbell Union School District's 34th annual is underway and stories and books submitted by more than 600 students district wide are on display at the library through May 25.
Tonight, there will be a reception for the many authors and their families at the library.

"The Friends of the Campbell Library sponsor an open house so the students get to see their work and the work of others up," says .
The writing faire was developed by Richard Ullman, a former assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. The annual program aimed at building awareness of the connection between reading and writing in the learning process, said Marla Sanchez, Campbell Union School District spokeswoman.

"That is, through reading you become a better writer and through writing you become a better reader," Sanchez said.
The writing faire also celebrates the kindergarten through eighth grade students' master of essays, both non-fiction and literary, storybooks, personal narratives and poetry.
