Catch A Thief For Campbell Police

CAMPBELL, CA -- Police officers would like the public's help to #CatchAThiefThursday.

The Twitter post showed a man in a red scarf suspected of stealing a purse out of a shopping cart at Whole Foods.

If you recognize him, the police department is asking for you to call 408-866-2101.

This isn't the first time the Santa Clara County town's police force came up with a novel idea to nab thieves. It has implemented a bait program to lure thieves into taking items. In one case that involved multiple thefts at residences along the Los Gatos Creek Trail, officers placed a bicycle with a GPS tracking device on it in the hopes the crook would take it. One man did and was consequently found and arrested.
