Suspect Described as 'A Man Amongst Men'

Pastor Jethroe Moore II, President of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Branch of the NAACP, was getting ready in the morning when he read about the online.

"By the time we figured out that it was Shareef, we were in shock," Moore said.

He has known Allman for the last 15 to 20 years and considers the man currently the main suspect in a deadly shooting at the Lehigh Cement Plant as a "stalwart within the community."

Although he did not confirm whether or not Allman's family had been in contact, he did say that "everyone's OK."

Moore II, along with others of the NAACP San Jose/Silicon Valley Branch held a press conference this afternoon at the African American Community Service Agency in San Jose urging Allman to surrender himself to bring the manhunt to a peaceful end.

"We just want to end this," Moore said. "We want to bring it to a peaceful close."
