Driver Dies After February Crash In San Jose

A man who suffered serious injuries in a February collision died from his injuries at the hospital this month, police said Monday.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man who was paralyzed after rear-ending an SUV in February died from his injuries last week, marking San Jose's 14th traffic death of the year, according to police.

Officers responded to the crash scene on Feb. 23 at the intersection of Saratoga Avenue and Moorpark Avenue. Police said an initial investigation determined the man's Infinity sedan was traveling north when it struck a Lexus SUV that was stopped in traffic.

The driver was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later stabilized, but was paralyzed and remained in the hospital. Officials on Monday said the driver was pronounced dead last Monday. The vitim's identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after notifying the man's next of kin.
