Fatal South Bay Crash Probed
Officers at around 2:10 a.m. Tuesday responded to the area of Charcot and O'Toole avenues to investigate a solo vehicle crash, police said.
SAN JOSE, CA — A driver was killed early Tuesday morning in a solo vehicle crash, San José police said.
Officers at around 2:10 a.m. responded to the area of Charcot Avenue and O'Toole Avenue to investigate a solo vehicle traffic collision.
A 2009 grey Honda sedan occupied by a solo male driver was traveling eastbound on Charcot Avenue in the No. 1 lane when it left the roadway at the intersection of O'Toole Avenue and struck a five-foot concrete barrier/divider for Highway 880, according to police.

The driver was dead deceased at the scene.
This is the 39th fatal collision, and the 41st traffic death of 2022.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
