Fatal South Bay Crash Probed
The cause of the collision is under investigation, police said.
SAN JOSÉ, CA — A man was killed early Saturday morning in a solo-vehicle crash, San José police said.
Officers at around 3:15 a.m. responded to the area of Burrell Court and West Hedding Street on the report of a vehicle hitting a tree, police said.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 2005 Infinity sports utility vehicle was traveling westbound on West Hedding Street when it left the roadway and collided with a tree on the north side of the street, police said.

The driver suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.

This is the 41st fatal collision, and the 43rd traffic death of 2022.
