Fatal South Bay Crash Victim ID’d: Report
The crash occurred early Saturday morning, authorities said.
SAN JOSÉ, CA — The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a South Bay weekend traffic crash has been identified as David Dunbar, 46 of San Jose, The Mercury News reports.
The crash occurred early Saturday morning, according to the San José Police Department.
A 2005 Infiniti sports utility vehicle was traveling westbound on West Hedding Street around 3 a.m. Saturday when it left the roadway and collided with a tree on the north side of the street, according to police.

The driver, later identified as Dunbar, sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.

This is the South Bay city’s 41st fatal collision, and the 43rd traffic death of 2022.
