Fire Near San Jose Public Storage Doused

The fire Thursday near Capitol Expressway was extinguished within about 30 minutes, a fire captain said.

SAN JOSE, CA — A small vegetation fire in south San Jose this morning was put out quickly enough to prevent its potential spread to an adjacent self-storage business, according to the San Jose Fire Department. The fire was reported at 11:37 a.m. next to the Public Storage facility at 3900 Vistapark Drive a block north of the Capitol Expressway, fire Capt. Mitch Matlow said.

The fire was put out in about 30 minutes, before it could spread to the nearby storage business offices.

There was no report of damage at the storage facility or any other nearby buildings, Matlow said, adding that the fire's cause is under investigation.
