Hidden Bathroom Camera Leads To Arrest In San Jose

Police said a hidden camera discovered in the bathroom of a San Jose coffee shop captured footage of dozens of victims.

SAN JOSE, CA — A San Jose man accused of hiding a camera in a coffee shop's bathroom faces a slew of criminal charges, including possession of child pornography and a large cache of guns, according to police.

The investigation began Jan. 31 after someone called 911 from a coffee shop on Coleman Avenue to report the discovery of a camera hidden beneath the bathroom sink aimed at the toilet, police said.

According to police, at least 91 people were caught on camera, ranging in age from 4 to 85, and were recorded the day before. Police said the videos were "extremely graphic' and showed multiple underage victims.

After a thorough investigation, police identified their primary suspect as Louis Juarez Jr., 35, of San Jose. Detectives secured arrest and search warrants for Juarez and arrested him Friday at his home in San Jose.

Police said a search of the property revealed 20 firearms, including an assault rifle and unregistered gun, high-capacity magazines and several "micro cameras."

Juarez was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of possession of child pornography, installment of a hidden surveillance camera with audio, and multiple gun-related charges.
