Murdered Mother's Son Accused, Arrested By San Jose Police

San Jose police quickly arrested Michael Ablaza on Friday, a day after discovering the body of his mother. Ablaza allegedly stabbed her.

SAN JOSE, CA --Police arrested a San Jose man Friday on suspicion of murdering his mother the day before.

Michael Ablaza, 25, is accused of stabbing to death Maribeth Garces Ablaza, 52, on the 1300 block of Darryl Drive in San Jose connected with a 9:24 p.m. call in which officers responded to a possible dead body.

Arriving officers located an adult female victim suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A follow-up investigation by homicide detectives identified the suspect as the person responsible for the murder.

A motive has not been provided yet.
