Pedestrian Killed By UPS Delivery Truck

The fatal collision happened on Highway 87.

SAN JOSE, CA — A UPS delivery truck struck and killed a person as they were trying to cross state Highway 87 in San Jose on Saturday.

The person was in the second lane from the left while trying to move across the northbound lanes from the median at about 5:45 p.m., when they were hit north of Curtner Avenue, according to the CHP.

Fire department personnel pronounced them dead at about 6 p.m.

The victim's name has not yet been released and alcohol wasn't a factor in the collision, CHP officials said.
