Homicide Victim Identified In San Jose
Police are investigating the killing that occurred on Montecito Drive at 1:30 p.m.

SAN JOSE, CA — An 84-year-old man killed during a home invasion in San Jose last week has been identified as Nghia Nguyen, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
A burglary was reported at about 9:30 a.m. last Friday in the 3200 block of Montecito Drive near Chaboya Middle School.
Police responded and found Nguyen inside the home with life-threatening injuries and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers briefly tried to pursue a car leaving the area, but called off the chase due to safety reasons. Police said the home showed signs of forced entry.
Nguyen's death is the 20th homicide of the year, and officers are currently trying to identify the suspect or suspects.
