Police Seek Fatal Hit-and-run Suspect In Red Pickup
The driver is wanted on suspicion of killing a pedestrian crossing the Almaden Expressway at Camden Avenue and leaving the scene on Monday.

SAN JOSE, CA -- The police department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian versus vehicle crash that occurred Monday at 6:23 a.m.
Officers responded to the scene of a crash at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Camden Avenue in San Jose, a notorious area for pedestrian incidents.
The preliminary investigation revealed the adult male victim was struck by a red pickup truck traveling northbound on the Almaden Expressway in lane No. 1. Four additional vehicles struck the victim as he lay in the roadway. The red truck stopped initially but then fled the scene without providing identification.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police indicated. The suspect has not been identified or apprehended.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office, after the victim’s identity is confirmed and next of kin is notified.

The incident represents the city’s sixth fatal crash in 2019, the fourth for one involving a pedestrian. Last year, pedestrian fatals ran into the double digits.
