Resident Chases Burglary Suspect Out Of House With Kids Inside
A "Papa Bear" resident walked into his home with his kids inside during a burglary and confronted the suspect, accused of theft.

SAN JOSE, CA -- Don't mess with daddy. A suspect with a long list of law enforcement issues was arrested and accused of burglary and resisting arrest upon the male adult resident with children in the house catching the crime as it happened.
Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies were called out at 10:05 a.m. to a burglary in progress at the intersection of Union Avenue and Logic Drive in unincorporated San Jose. The homeowner returned to his residence with his young children and heard someone inside of his house.
The homeowner saw a Hispanic male adult, later identified as 30-year old Paul Garcia Jr., and chased him out of the house. Garcia Jr. struck the victim, stole another resident’s bicycle and continued fleeing the scene. According to the victim, cash, jewelry and personal documents were stolen from inside of his residence.

Deputies located Garcia Jr. a short time later and attempted to detain him. Garcia Jr. resisted arrest, but was eventually apprehended by deputies. The suspect was armed with a pocket knife at the time of his arrest. Deputies recovered some of victim’s property, which was in the suspect's possession.
Garcia Jr. was wanted on a no-bail warrant for felony hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license. He is also on probation.

Garcia Jr. was ultimately taken into custody on suspicion of burglary, theft, resisting arrest, probation violation and the no-bail warrant and booked into the Main Jail in San Jose.
