SJ Man Accused Of Kicking Officers, Nurse After Breaking Window
Police allege the man threw a large rock through a window outside a San Mateo shopping center, assaulted officers and kicked a nurse.

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Jose man is accused of breaking a window outside the Hillsdale Shopping Center, harassing witnesses and assaulting officers and a nurse, according to San Mateo police.
Investigators said multiple 911 callers reported a disturbance in the mall's parking lot a few minutes before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, witnesses said a man was breaking windows, yelling and acting aggressively to people nearby. Arriving officers learned the suspect had thrown a large rock through a parked car window and said the man refused to identify himself when approached.

After handcuffing the man, police said he began to spit on and kick officers. When he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, police allege he kicked a nurse.
Officials identified the suspect as William Chase, 58, of San Jose. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism, felony resisting arrest, and battery on an officer or emergency personnel.
