South Bay Suspects Lead Cops On Freeway Pursuit
Spiked strips were deployed to bring the suspect vehicle to a stop in San Mateo County, authorities said.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — A freeway pursuit earlier this week involving at least two suspects and a stolen vehicle ended with the seizure of weapons and drugs, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said.
The passenger had a $65,000 arrest warrant out of Alameda County for an identity theft case and the driver was on probation, the Sheriff’s Office wrote on the agency’s Facebook page.

Deputies recovered a loaded stolen firearm, identification and bank cards, and more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The suspects tossed out multiple bags from the window of their vehicle during the pursuit on Interstate 280 early Tuesday morning, the Sheriff’s Office said.

“What were their intentions that evening? That’s something you’ll have to conclude,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
The chase ended in San Mateo County after cops used spike strips to bring the suspect vehicle to a stop, authorities said.
“Fantastic work to our midnight patrol deputies and thank you to the CHP - San Jose for their assistance!” the Sheriff’s Office said.
