Suspect Sought In Fatal South Bay Stabbing: Cops

"The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation," police said in a statement.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a fatal South Bay stabbing.

Officers at around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday responding to a report of an assault in the 100 block of South Market Street found a woman suffering from at least one stab wound, the San Jose Police Department said in a statement.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The case is being investigated as the city’s 21st reported homicide of 2022.
