Teen Arrested After Deadly SJ Hit-And-Run: Police
Police allege a juvenile driver was speeding and ran a stop sign before crashing into a pickup truck, killing the driver inside.
SAN JOSE, CA — San Jose police allege a young driver speeding in a Chevy Camaro ran a stop sign and caused a deadly crash Wednesday morning before fleeing the scene. Officers responded to a hit-and-run involving two vehicles a few minutes after 4 a.m. near Nieman Boulevard and Daniel Maloney Drive.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a black Chevy Camaro was moving northbound at a high rate of speed when the driver ran the stop sign and crashed into a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck traveling westbound on Daniel Maloney Drive.
Officials said the man driving the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers later found the juvenile believed to be driving the Camaro at the time of the crash and took them into custody. Police said the crash was San Jose's 12th fatal crash of 2024.
