Heavy smoke and fire were coming from the front of the house, Capt. Rob Brown said.

There were concerns that the home's residents may still be inside, so fire crews made an initial rescue attempt and found one elderly woman inside. She was taken out and crews attempted to resuscitate her, but she succumbed to her injuries, Brown said.
