U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officer Dragged And Injured By Fleeing Suspect
The Fish and Wildlife officer attempted to detain the driver of a Can-Am vehicle. The vehicle drove into the officer, police said.
SAN JOSE, CA — A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officer was injured Friday night by a fleeing suspect near a bayside park in San Jose, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting involving a law enforcement officer about 9:23 p.m. in the area of Grand Boulevard and Los Esteros Road near Alviso Marina County Park. The park is adjacent to Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
The Fish and Wildlife officer attempted to detain the driver of a Can-Am vehicle. The vehicle drove into the officer, causing the officer to be dragged, police said Saturday on social media.

The officer fired at least one shot in the direction of the vehicle. It isn't known whether the driver was struck by gunfire.
The driver fled the area and remains at large, police said. The officer was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
