Valentine Fun Run Grows in Size
The 35th annual event drew 1,100 participants this year, complete with festive outfits.
Campbell native Dan Furtado says that when the Valentine Fun Run first began, there were very few participants and it was held in downtown Campbell.
The creation of the light rail station put an end to that location because it was deemed unsafe to have runners cross the light rail tracks, Furtado says so it was moved to .
Furtado, 68 and with bib No. 2 finished fourth in his age group with a running time of 51:31.

Now in it's 35th year, the Campbell Valentine Fun Run/Walk has grown to 1,100 participants, 100 more than last year. Even the light morning drizzle didn't sway participants from showing up.
