Woman Fatally Struck Christmas Eve In SJ Parking Lot Identified

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office has identified a woman fatally struck in a parking lot in San Jose on Christmas Eve as Diana Turner-Coupe. The 63-year-old transient was found acting erratically and lying in the roadway when officers were dispatched at 4:48 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of Curtner and Canoas Gardens avenues.
San Jose police said Turner-Coupe was then taken to a hospital where she died a short time later.
The man who hit Turner-Coupe was driving a white 2015 Toyota Scion when he struck her while turning around a median in attempt to enter the parking lot. He stopped and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
