Evacuations Underway For 45-Acre Brush Fire: Authorities
People were advised to avoid the area, authorities said.
CARLSBAD, CA — A brush fire forced evacuations Thursday afternoon in eastern Carlsbad, authorities said.
The fire broke out around 3 p.m. As of shortly before 5:30 p.m., firefighters had the spread of the flames halted at roughly 45 acres, according to Cal Fire, one of several agencies that battled the blaze. No structural damage or injuries were reported.
The fire originated in a canyon behind the 7500 block of Camino Minero near Corte Claro and Paseo Encino off Rancho Santa Fe Road close to the San Marcos city line, according to authorities. People were advised to avoid the area, authorities said.

Authorities cleared people out of areas east of Rancho Santa Fe Road and south of San Elijo Road as the fire spread and established a temporary shelter for evacuees at Stagecoach Park on Camino De Los Coches in Carlsbad.
