Carlsbad-Based Entrepreneur Launches Digital Designer Consignment Shop
Christina Samoylov offers a free personal styling service going to clients' homes and edits their closets, from what they keep, dispose, donate, and consign.
With the increasing popularity of consignment shopping at both brick and mortar and online stores, 25-year-old Carlsbad resident Christina Samoylov took the leap – and took the trend a step further – by launching Designer Vault (www.designer-vault.com) in 2012. Designer Vault is an online luxury consignment store featuring carefully curated, authentic designer apparel and accessories for women that fashionistas covet.
“Our store offers only unique, hard- or impossible-to-find, stylish pieces by designers who are doing it right,” states Designer Vault founder and owner Christina Samoylov, a self-proclaimed fashion enthusiast since she was four years old. “Here, you don’t have to weed through anything to find the good stuff. It’s all the good stuff – the most desirable pieces, at the most desirable prices.”
Designer Vault carries the most sought-after items from classic fashion houses including Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs – as well as chic pieces from young and emerging designers including Derek Lam, Isabel Marant, and Marni. As a die-hard lover of fashion designers and their work, Samoylov is, unsurprisingly, no fan of fake designer items.

“Never buy fakes!” exclaims Samoylov. “It causes designers to raise their prices. The value of authentic pieces is lessened by fakes and there is nothing pretty about strutting your stuff with a fake Louis Vuitton on your shoulder.”
Samoylov ensures that her items at Designer Vault are authentic through an extensive verification process. Although this process takes some time for clients who want to consign with the e-boutique, this procedure is worthwhile for Samoylov and her clients. With the consigned items confirmed as authentic, this ensures that clients can trust Designer Vault where shoppers have the confidence they’re getting the real thing, and where consignors gain the higher prices that true designer items deserve, due to their genuine designs and craftsmanship.

Like no other online consignment store, Designer Vault offers a full-closet consultation to clients in Southern California where Samoylov personally assists in what to keep, dispose, donate, and consign. In addition, Designer Vault will not reject any items for consignment, and will do all the “heavy lifting” that even includes hauling away clients’ donated items. Clients that don’t reside in California can simply e-mail Designer Vault to receive a UPS pre-paid shipping label to send their items to the firm. In addition, Designer Vault does not require any membership to purchase the boutique’s items; it is open to the public so that all fashion-forward shoppers can benefit from Designer Vault’s everyday deals as well as its flash sales.
Future plans for Designer Vault include trunk shows and styling services. For more information on Designer Vault, visit www.designer-vault.com, call (858) 367-0037, or e-mail customerservice@designer-vault.com.
