Community Invited to 'Copa de Carlsbad' Soccer Tournament
Carlsbad Unified School District and the City of Carlsbad Recreation Department will be hosting its 2nd annual "Copa de Carlsbad" Soccer Tournament Nov. 14 at Pine Field.

Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD) in collaboration with the City of Carlsbad Recreation Department will be hosting its 2nd annual “Copa de Carlsbad” Soccer Tournament on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Pine Field. This is an opportunity for the community to support students and cheer for the players in the District in an active, positive environment. This event displays a great partnership between CUSD and the City of Carlsbad. The tournament will be a similar format to the March Madness Basketball Tournament, also hosted by CUSD and City of Carlsbad. The teams are comprised of 5th grade boys and girls teams from all nine elementary schools in the Carlsbad Unified School District; Aviara Oaks, Buena Vista, Calavera Hills, Hope, Jefferson, Kelly, Magnolia, Pacific Rim, and Poinsettia.
Players from Carlsbad High School’s soccer team are excited to help coach, support and mentor the elementary students playing.
The Champion Lancers will be on hand to volunteer and interact with all players and attendees.
